Don't Miss the Best Summer Festivals

Being a country with four distinct seasons, there are many festivals throughout the country where you enjoy the best of each season. These festivals will make your summer livelier and full of energy.

The Everland Rose Festival held in Everland Resort, a popular theme park in Gyeonggi-do Province, is a must-see spring flower festival featuring some 34,000 rose trees collected and grown over a period of 30 years. The LED flower garden at night allows for visitors to enjoy the beautiful sight even after dark. Saryeoni Forest in Jejudo Island hosts the annual Saryeoni Forest Eco-healing, which is a forest experience festival that includes walking, concerts and more. The entire island of Jejudo is a UNESCO World Heritage, and Saryeoni Forest is part of the UNESCO-designated Jeju Biosphere Reserve.

If you’re visiting Korea during the hot summer season, you should definitely go to the Boryeong Mud Festival held in Daecheon Beach, and the Busan Sea Festival held in Haeundae Beach and five other beaches in Busan. The Mud Festival invites you to enjoy the outstanding mud from Korea’s west coast. You can cool the heat of summer in the mud while also rejuvenating your skin. After sunset, the Busan Sea Festival stages various events and a fireworks show at Haeundae Beach, the main festival area.

At the Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival you can experience Korea’s traditional culture.

Korea’s beautiful and proud fortification can be seen through the well-preserved 18th century Hwaseong Fortress, and you can also see the reenactment of the royal march of King Jeongjo, Joseon Dynasty’s 22nd king, as well as various martial arts performances.
